Donald Trump’s Reelection Prophesy: God Is Entitled To Change His Mind!

Those mocking men and women of God over Donald Trump reelection prophesy are ignorant, although I am not unaware that the Good Book says that “my people perish for lack of knowledge.” And I advise such mockers to stop mocking the men and women of God who prophesied at the run-up to the November 3, 2020, presidential election in the United States that God told them and that they heard Him clearly that President Donald Trump will be re-elected, President.

Presently, the American media (not the electoral body) has projected Trump’s major opponent and candidate of the Democratic Party, Mr Joe Biden as the winner of the election and has thus projected him as the President-Elect of the United States. Donald Trump is disputing the election results and has filed several cases in court to challenge the outcome, which is his right to do under the law. Since the projection of Biden as the President-Elect by the major news networks in America, there had been a noticeable increase in the mocking of men and women of God who prophesied that Trump will be reelected and not least of those being mocked is Pastor Paula White (one of the women of God that I respect and admire most in the world and on a personal note, I named my last daughter Paula out of respect and admiration for her).

Supposing without conceding that Trump has no case over the election and the Supreme Court confirms that Joe Biden was duly elected President, does that mean that God did not speak in favour of Trump? Does it mean that God cannot change His mind? My answer is that God is entitled to change his mind even when he had earlier approved a particular outcome. And I have Biblical evidence to prove it.

In Second King Chapter Three, the Bible narrated that when King of Israel Ahab died and his son Joram took over leadership as the king, Mesha the King of Moab who hitherto had been paying tribute to King Ahab refused to pay. This angered King Joram and he mobilized Jehoshaphat King of Judah, the King of Edom and the king of Samaria to fight the King of Moab. However, it was Jehoshaphat that had the common sense to ask for the view of God on their enterprise.

In 2 King 3: 11, “But Jehoshaphat asked, ‘Is there no prophet of the LORD here, through whom we may inquire of the LORD?’ An officer of the king of Israel answered, ‘Elisha son of Shaphat is here. He used to pour water on the hands of Elijah.’ “ Jehoshaphat said, ‘The word of the LORD is with him.’ So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him.”

On getting to Elisha, the kings discovered that he was not happy to receive them because they have abandoned the worship of God and were following other gods, but he had respect for King Jehoshaphat who was God-fearing and decided to prophesy for them. “Elisha said, ‘As surely as the LORD Almighty lives, whom I serve, if I did not have respect for the presence of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, I would not pay any attention to you. But now bring me a harpist.’” Elisha’s prophesy was, “This is an easy thing in the eyes of the LORD; he will also deliver Moab into your hands. You will overthrow every fortified city and every major town. You will cut down every good tree, stop up all the springs, and ruin every good field with stones.” Did this prophecy come true or did God change his mind?

See what happened on the day Israel expected victory based on the prophecy. On the day of battle, Israel surrounded Moab and the battle was intense and in favour of Israel. However the King of Moab did something that made God to change his mind and the prophecy seemed to have failed. 2 King 3: 26-27 “When the king of Moab saw that the battle was too fierce for him, he took with him seven hundred swordsmen to break through to the king of Edom, but they could not prevail. So he took his firstborn son, who was to succeed him, and offered him as a burnt offering on the city wall. And there was great fury against the Israelites, so they withdrew and returned to their own land.” That was how Israel failed to defeat Moab even though they went to the battle on the strength of a true prophesy by Elisha.

There are several instances where God changed His mind despite earlier prophesies, among such prophesies was the prophecy given to Hezekiah from God by Prophet Isaiah. “In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to him and said, ‘This is what the LORD says: Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover.’" Despite this prophecy, Hezekiah did not die. God changed His mind and added 15 more years to the life of Hezekiah.

In the case of Trump, it is really he against the world. And the world is not always right. Don’t forget that more people wanted and approved that innocent man (Jesus Christ) be crucified and a robber set free than those who disapproved! Think about it!
