Gunmen Kill Yobe Varsity Female Staff

 

Gunmen have killed a non-academic staff member at the Yobe State University, Ammie Adamu Mammam.

 Until her death, she was an officer in the school’s Faculty of Agriculture.

She was said to have been killed on Wednesday night in her residence of New Bra-Bra Housing Estate on Gujba Bypass Road.

A lecturer in the institution who confirmed the incident said the deceased was killed by suspected assailants at her residence in Damaturu.

He said, "It is true, she was killed last night while sleeping at home, she was my friend’s wife. I just got confirmation from a member of her faculty now."

When contacted, the head of information of the university, said the institution was yet to get full details of her death.

Information from the family confirmed the murder of Ammie at 3 am on Wednesday.

A credible police source said an investigation had been launched into the matter.
