Former head of state and the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) General Muhammadu Buhari has dispelled insinuations that his age would be a barrier in his effectiveness as president saying that he has the strength and capacity to run the country at 72 years of age.

General Buhari gave the assurance in Port Harcourt today at the kick-off of the APC presidential campaign at the Rivers State capital. He said that the country has failed to move forward since the last time he was military head of state, assuring on his ability to reposition the country.

On what is giving him confidence that he could win the presidential election this time around after three previously failed attempt, the former head of state said that the merging of the political parties into a major political force in APC accounted for his confidence.
