The Return Of Tyranny In Nigeria
Martin Niemöller:
"First they came for the Socialists..."
“First they came for the Socialists, and I did not
speak out—Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.”
“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil
is for good men to do nothing”-Edmund Burke
When the people fear the
government, there is tyranny. When the government fears the people, there is
liberty-Thomas Jefferson
“To learn who rules over you, simply find out who
you are not allowed to criticise”-Voltaire
The major critics from Chief
Femi Fani-Kayode, to Olisa Metuh have been silenced. The silencing of Governor Ayo
Fayose is loading among others, and you are clapping. As bail applications granted
Sambo Dasuki and others by competent courts are being disregarded, you are hailing
the impunity, even when you have not heard a word from Dasuki, because they don’t
want you to hear his own side of the story. Even God, our Creator asked Adam
where are you? Because God believe in fair hearing, He didn’t sentence (pass
judgement on) Adam without hearing his own side of the story at the Garden of
Eden.
You, who is hailing
impunity beware. What goes around comes around. After putting away all the PDPs
what would be left to be incarcerated? The APCs. Then it will be too late.
