Hypocrites: Remembering 70 Democratic Lawmakers That Boycotted Trump’s Inauguration!

 The Democratic Party members and their supporters are the worst hypocrites in the world. When Donald Trump the presidential candidate of the Republican Party defeated the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party, Hillary Clinton in 2016 the Democrats who could not accept the fact that Trump won claimed that Russians rigged the election in favour of Trump. Here was the world’s supposed bastion of democracy and Super Power admitting that it could not conduct free and fair election, just to delegitimize Donald Trump Presidency. 

The same characters today want Trump to accept the ‘victory’ of Joe Biden and attend the inauguration of their preferred candidate and also ensure smooth transition something they never granted Trump. Recall that group of Democratic lawmakers boycotted President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration to protest what they described as his alarming and divisive policies, foreign interference in his election and his criticism of civil rights icon John Lewis, a congressman from Georgia. 

There are nearly 70 House Democrats who did not attend the inauguration on Capitol Hill. Lewis saw Trump’s victory as illegitimate because of Russia’s alleged interference in the election. Trump never had respite from day one of his unexpected victory that the pundits did not see coming. The media was unforgiving but the same media wants Trump to accept the alleged fraud that characterized Biden’s victory. Even before his inauguration the media claimed he had low approval rating. A man who had not even mounted the saddle! At the time (2016) before taking oath of office the ABC News/Washington Post poll found just 40% of Americans view Mr Trump favourably compared with the 79% President Obama received in 2009. A CNN/ORC survey also indicated that Mr Trump had a 40% approval rating compared with the 84% Mr Obama had in 2009. A Gallup poll conducted two weeks before the inauguration found 51% of respondents disapproved of how he is handling the presidential transition compared with 44% who approved. These negative polls outcome characterized Trump Presidency to the end of his administration. Much of the polls were influenced by their refusal to accept Trump’s victory in 2016! How ironic they want their own victory celebrated.
