Nigeria Decides: Jonathan Leads Buhari In Popular Vote

The latest official results released
by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by the chairman of INEC
Prof Attahiru Jega showed that the presidential candidate of the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) President Goodluck Jonathan has won majority of the popular
votes getting 2,322,734 votes while the presidential candidate of the All
Progressives Congress (APC) General Muhammadu Buhari got 2,302,978 votes.
With this result Jonathan is beating
Buhari with 19,756 votes. However Buhari
won in five states, Ogun, Kogi, Osun, Ondo, Oyo where he got 308290, 264851, 383603,
299889, 528620 respectively as against 207950, 149987, 249929, 251368, 303376
votes in the aforementioned states.
Jonathan on the other hand won in
Ekiti, Enugu, FCT and Nasarawa states where he got 176466, 553003, 157195 and
273460 votes respectively as against 120,331, 14,157, 146399 and 236838 gotten
by Buhari in the aforementioned states and FCT.
