1 Killed, Shop Burnt In Yobe Boko Haram Attack
Boko Haram terrorists have killed one
person and burnt his mini shop during an attack on College Pumpo Village in
Gujba local government area of Yobe State. The incident took place on Saturday
night, residents have said.
The ward head, Ardo Dungus Bulama,
told journalists that the attackers arrived in the village at about 11 pm and
began to shoot sporadically.
The gunmen who rode bicycles were said
to have torched one mini shop belonging to the late Modu Zarami, who they had
earlier killed.
Some of the villagers who had retired
to their beds earlier due to the harmattan haze and cold, said it was the sound
of gunshots that woke them.
One of the villagers said, "We
were jolted out of our bedrooms by the sound of gunshots, the gunmen also
looted foodstuff during the attack.”
It was gathered that a 35-year-old
man, whose shop was burnt, was the only victim of the attack.
