Protesters Demand Tinubu’s Intervention In Kano Governorship Crisis

The Coalition of Kano Concerned Youths has organised a special prayer and protest march and called on President Bola Ahmad Tinubu to intervene and call the judges handling election cases to order.

The call was made by the coordinator of the group, Ibrahim Rabiu, yesterday, at the close of the procession.

According to the group, it is worrisome that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, is facing judgement based on personal interests and not justice.

It accused the judges of clearly diminishing the image of the judiciary, which is the last hope of the common man while disregarding the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The protesters said the people of Kano State voted their choice saying, "using the court to undermine their chosen candidates is like a slap on democracy.’’

The youths, however, reechoed their call to former presidents, religious and traditional rulers nationwide to intervene and allow the people's mandates in Kano see the light of the day in the coming judgement of the Supreme Court.
